We took them shopping for clothing, shoes, and Elmore picked out some books. We also gave them a Visa gift card to purchase other items they might need. We also provided them a Christmas tree for their temporary apartment and a homecooked holiday dinner (thank you Jason Roeller for cooking the dinner). Elmore's Christmas wish list included an Xbox, netbook computer, iPod Touch, football, basketball, electronic dartboard, nerf guns and a fushigi ball. As you can see from the pictures, we were able to give him Christmas back, which included almost everything on the list. Elmore posted on his facebook page "This was the best Christmas ever and I mean it. I got like 10 or more presents my top three favorite presents are iPod touch nerf guns and my new bike:)(::)(:".

Friday, December 10, 2010, the Lightfoot's suffered a kitchen fire that destroyed everything in the kitchen and family room. The rest of the apartment had extensive heat and smoke damage. This was one after Veronica was released from the hospital for having surgery. The apartment is shared by Veronica Lightfoot and her husband. They also have their 10 year old grandson, Elmore Newbury living there.
