The next night, we were able to deliver a case of diapers, baby wipes, and formula for Sergio along with a $100 gift card for necessities. We asked for a list of clothing sizes for everyone and a list of items the children had wanted for Christmas. We went shopping, and on Wednesday, we were able to deliver Christmas to the Suarez family. This delivery was such a huge success thanks to many! Thank you to the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation for their contribution of toys and gift cards. CCFD Station 22, "A" Platoon, Capt Thompson and his crew were one of the many crews that battled this fire. When we contacted him about what we were going to do, they were already planning to assist the Suarez family, so we combined our resources. CCFD Station 21, "A" Platoon, Capt Odiorne and his crew also fought this fire and also donated for the cause. CCFD Station 12, "C" Platoon, Capt Youdelis and his crew were not one of the responders to this fire, but when they heard what we were doing, they also chipped in. Thanks to everyone, I am glad to say that we were able to get everything on Rigo's and Carmen's Christmas list, and even more! Thank you everyone! Please enjoy the pictures of our success.

Saturday December 19, 2009. The Suarez family was getting ready for bed when someone started banging on their door. They answered the door to discover a quickly moving fire. The family was able to get out safely but within moments their garage and two cars were fully engulfed. The fire moved so fast that it quickly destroyed the home and most everything they owned. Rigo and Alejandro Suarez lived here with their three children: Rigo, their 15 year old son, Carmen, their 11 year old daughter and Sergio, their 6 month old son.
