Operation FireH.E.A.T.

Early Saturday morning on December 27, 2008, Jimmeka Harris and Leearl Adams became victims of a catastrophic fire that destroyed everything they owned.  They have two children:  Damani, their three year old son and Magyk, their two month old son.

When we contacted Capt Kyle Lemmon to get more information about the family, we learned that he and his crew (CCFD Station 20, A Platoon) had already taken over some necessities on their last shift, but the family could surely use more.  We told him what we had available to work with and set up a delivery time with the family.  When we arrived at Station 20, we were delighted to see they had a room full of more toys and necessities for the family.  When included with what we had, there was so much for the family that we could not load everything in the fire engine, we had to take it over in the back of one of the firefighter's personal truck.  We were able to give replacement Christmas toys, formula, diapers, wipes, a car seat, a stroller, clothing, bedding, and bathroom toiletries.  Way to go everyone!!
